Salmon
Fishing:
Buoy 10 & Columbia River
Fall
Salmon
August - September
Lights,
Camera, Action! The annual return of Fall Salmon
to the Columbia River is one of the best runs on
the continent. Fall Chinook (King Salmon) run 15 to 50 pounds
with the Coho Salmon (Silver Salmon) weighing between
6 and 20 pounds. Reserve Now
I
start fishing the mouth of the river and the ocean
August 1 and remain in the Astoria area until
mid-September. Trolled herring is the method of choice
in the lower river.

Limits
of fish for my boat during this run are a daily
occurrence with the action at times bordering
chaos!
As the fish make their way up the river I like to
ambush the big Kings between Longview and Bonneville
Dam. Back trolled Kwikfish and at anchor, wobbler
fishing is great fun. By this time we’re fishing
within 45 minutes of Portland, making it easy for
everyone to get to the fishing grounds. Reserve Now
